Thumbs Up Africa - Llive & Interactive Multimedia Chat
The hitchhike adventure from Groningen (Netherlands) to Cape Town (South Africa)

This Monday 6-7pm (GMT+1) = Interactive multimedia (video) CHATTING with Sierd, Neda and Christiaan live from Khartoum, Sudan! One whole hour to ask them anything you'd like. Post your questions prior to joining, on Thumbs UP Africa Facebook fanpage for October 29th 2012 and the GEM-TUA multicast team - we'll pick out the most interesting questions.

Or if you prefer, ask your questions during the multicast in the Chat pod while we speak with Sierd, Neda & Christiaan and Guest Speakers from Khartoum, Sudan. Again, various questions will be chosen and answered.

Every once in a while during the online interactive session, Christiaan, Neda and Sierd will take the time to answer your questions in real time. Meet them online via webcam to see how they are doing, and to hear more about their latest experiences during Thumbs Up Africa - the hitchhike adventure from Groningen (NL) to Cape Town (South Africa).

In every session new people participate. including people that the hitchhikers have met along the journey. This can be aid workers, activists, women’s groups, artists, refugees, young leaders.

This time, staff members of Hivos (the Dutch Humanist Institute for Development Cooperation - www.hivos.nl/eng), are joining in on the discussion. Is is possible to have Child Labor Free Zones in Ethiopia? Ethiopia, the country that was never colonized, the country of the Rastafari.

Youth leaders igniting positive global changes - creating unique, innovative and inclusive social design through dialogues. Join the digital new media generation.

Transformations into the future of local and global sustainability Begins Now, as we bridge the digital divide.

About the project: Despite ongoing digital innovation, only a limited group of people are given the opportunity to speak about their community and they all need to have access to participate in a global debate. We have to include all voices in the discussion on what ‘sustainability’ means in practice to learn how we can work towards just, durable, and peaceful societies together. Therefore, we will apply a young, interactive, and adventurous approach to get a new crowd involved in this discussion: youth worldwide can follow and interact with three hitchhikers on their way from The Netherlands to South Africa. ‘Sustainability’ gets a face and focus, triggering discussion and creating important visual data and content for ongoing social campaigns. And why not? (by Ashie Hirji - Thumbs Up Africa/GEM Team)
